Ipswich Musical Theatre Company was founded in 2001, staging “Seven Little Australians – the Musical”, to celebrate the Centenary of Federation. Since then, IMTC has staged shows, dinner theatre and major musical productions, performing in both the historic Old Courthouse and the Ipswich Civic Centre.
As a community-based organisation, IMTC has gone from strength to strength, receiving an Australia Day Award for their 2014 production of “The Phantom of the Opera”. The company continues to bring premiere productions to Ipswich with Mary Poppins (2015), Wicked (2016) and Les Misérables (2017),
Founders, Brenda Ryan (Artistic Director) and Kenneth Mundt (Production Manager), are still an integral part of Ipswich Musical Theatre Company
