Ipswich Hospice
Ipswich Hospice was built by the Ipswich community, to provide end-of-life care to people who are unable to stay at home, and to support them and their carers through one of the hardest times of their lives. They have 7 inpatient beds at the moment and have plans waiting approval for an additional 3 beds, as the need for their services have grown and they are unable to meet the current need of the community.
Ipswich Hospice has been providing inpatient care for the past 30 years, and grief and bereavement counselling services through Hilda’s House since and this is an achievement that they are very proud of.
Their inpatient services and counselling sessions are provided free of charge, to ensure that there is no financial barrier to care when it is needed most. Government funding covers 50% of their costs, and the remainder is raised through fundraising, donations, workplace giving programs and grants.
