CleanCo’s purpose is to deliver reliable clean energy solutions at a competitive price for Queenslanders.
CleanCo was established as part of the Queensland Government’s Powering Queensland Plan which outlines the state’s
strategy to navigate the short and long term challenges facing Australia’s energy market. Our foundation assets include the Wivenhoe pumped storage hydro power station, Swanbank E gas power station, and three Far North Queensland hydro stations, including Barron Gorge, Kareeya and Koombooloomba.
Combined, our current portfolio of assets has the capacity to generate 1,120 MW.
Our activities will help to improve electricity affordability, contribute to the achievement of Queensland’s 50 per cent
renewable energy target by 2030, support secure and reliable electricity generation, and create new investment and jobs in
regional Queensland.
